MEASURE YOUR BATHROOM
Guide to Measuring a Bathroom Using Tiles
Preparation
-
Gather necessary tools
- Measuring tape
- Notepad and pencil
- Calculator (optional)
-
Note the size of each tile
- Measure the width and length of a single tile
- Record the sizes as some may vary
Measure the Floor Area
-
Count the number of tiles along the length of the floor
- Start at one wall and count until you reach the opposite wall
-
Count the number of tiles along the width of the floor
- Ensure to count from one side to the other
-
Calculate the total floor area
- Multiply the number of tiles in length by the number of tiles in width
- Multiply the result by the size of one tile to get the area in square units
Measure the Wall Area
-
Count the number of tiles vertically from floor to ceiling
- Start at the floor and count upwards
-
Count the number of tiles horizontally from one corner to the other along each wall
- Repeat this for each wall
-
Calculate the area of each wall
- Multiply the number of tiles vertically by the number horizontally for each wall
- Multiply the result by the size of one tile for the area in square units
Consider Variations
-
Identify any areas with different tile sizes
- Measure these separately using the same method
-
Account for areas with fixtures or fittings
- Deduct the area occupied by any non-tiled fixtures from the total
Finalize Measurements
-
Sum up all calculated floor and wall areas
-
Keep a record of each measurement for future reference
-
Note: Accurate measurements are crucial for successful project execution. Double-check all counts and calculations to ensure precision.
